Faking “I read my newspaper in a bar” atmosphere

1. Thanks to Drew for the background picture.

2. Let the magic begins by setting the transform-style to preserve-3d.

3. We're gonna play with transform properties: perspective(0deg), rotateX(), rotateY(), rotateZ() and scaleY().

4. A #CSS transition is added on body:hover to stand the newspaper up on mouse over.

About the project

The Daily Jungle was created in #PHP in 2001 and became one of the first French news source validated by early Google News.

The project stopped in 2006 after the split of the original team and my departure from Marseilles, but it was 5 fabulous years with a great community of readers and writers.

We lost the sources, but most of the contents are available on archive.org
